Job Description:

Role overview

  • This is key role in supporting Edinburgh Airport’s strategy for Growth through Choice.
  • Ability to manage many different priorities, identify Business Development opportunities for sales & income growth, and drive our partners to maximise revenue.
  • Managing the retail contract road map of 60+ contracts, optimising space utilisation and supporting building the pipeline to fill new opportunities brought about by future projects.
  • Lead and manage the full Business Development competitive bid process (bid pack, prospective concessionaire presentations and negotiations).

Principal responsibilities

  • Actively input to the delivery of the retail strategy, budget and 5-year plan
  • Develop & deliver the Retail Strategy to optimise sales, revenue and profitability through the roadmap and new business opportunities
  • Develop proactive working relationships with business partners to ensure continued development of products and range to drive sales & income
  • Plan, manage negotiations, competitive bids within the defined account portfolio for new and existing business partners to maximise Edinburgh’s Retail revenue
  • Work with our Commercial Contracts Manager to complete the full onboarding process to then create Approvals, Board Papers, Heads of Terms, first draft Concession Agreements, Amendments, improvements and updates to the business partner contracts
  • Work closely with our Analyst Teams, Finance Team, Marketing Team and Projects Teams to ensure that all Business Development requirements are captured and completed
  • Represent Retail and or lead work streams as required on Edinburgh projects and developments
Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven track record of success in a similar role
  • Target driven, with focus on achieving targets and helping optimise opportunities
  • Skilled in all Microsoft packages
  • Experience in influencing key decision makers and communicating effectively
  • Demonstrate a strong commercial focus with a competitive edge that will drive sales performance
  • Critical to have a positive and ‘can do’ approach, along with ability to work with pace and urgency
  • Understanding of the airport environment is desirable but not essential

This is a key role within the retail and commercial teams, with opportunities to make a difference to the revenue and profitability at Edinburgh. Involvement in creating, developing and delivery of the Retail strategy.
