Role overview

We're looking to hire a committed Commercial Performance Analyst to support our Commercial team. This is an opportunity to make a real impact in a fast paced and varied role where you will be responsible for providing accurate and insightful reporting, analytics & forecasts to help inform future business decisions. You will be inquisitive in nature with a keen eye for detail. You will enjoy manipulating large amounts of financial and non-financial data with the ability to add commercial insight and identify trends and issues.

Principal responsibility

  • Identify hypotheses regarding passenger spending behaviour and use a combination of financial and operational data to test these
  • Contribute to commercial projects by working with the project sponsors to understand scope and provide detailed models to guide decisions and demonstrate benefit of multiple options
  • Work with the performance managers to use appropriate tools and methodology to successfully work with business partners, to grow penetration and basket spend
  • Use Tableau to interrogate business data and provide dashboards to accurately and effectively display insights to the team
  • Deliver deep dive analysis into specific business areas, analysing historic trends and market performance to provide clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • Contribute to the 5-year plan forecasting process
  • Undertake industry benchmarking and competitor analysis
  • Provide administration support for the contract process
  • Participate in appropriate working groups and projects
Qualifications and Experience:

Qualifications and experience

  • A degree or post graduate technical or analytical based subject (e.g. Maths, Economics, Statistics, Accounting and Finance etc)
  • Qualified CA/ACCA with circa 1-3 years’ experience is desirable
  • Prior experience in transaction services/business improvement is preferable
  • Highly numerically skilled & comfortable with manipulating numbers
  • Experience using Tableau to build interactive dashboards is desirable
  • Highly skilled in Excel, with evidence of models developed, maintained and presented
  • Excellent power point skills, with ability to present complex data in a compelling way
  • Able to spot commercial opportunity, and be passionate about performance
  • Experience in influencing key decision makers and communicating effectively

 

Framework and boundaries

  • To ensure all activities within the role are focused upon delivering against Edinburgh’s commercial KPI’s.
  • To participate in projects and working groups, carrying out any other duties that maybe outside the standard remit for the purpose of personal development or as may be reasonably required by the company.
