Early Bag Store Operative

Role overview:

Working for EASL you will work in the baggage hall preparing bags in the Early bag Store until ready to be redistributed into the baggage system.

Principal accountabilities:

• Keeping an eye open for suspicious-looking baggage items at all times and reporting anything immediately.
• Correctly loading and storing luggage until the MUPs are ready
• Sorting loads according to their onward destination.
• Loading baggage from cages onto conveyor
• Scanning baggage before dispatching to carousels
• Recording and dealing with damaged or incorrectly received baggage
• Using specialist equipment such as conveyors, bar code recognition
• Informing baggage controllers about damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
• Ability to work safely under time pressures
• Reliable, conscientious with an eye for detail
• Enthusiastic and flexible approach
• Capable of working as part of a team
• Good communication skills both verbal and written

Specific Experience:

• Excellent communication skills
• Experience of working in an airport desirable but not essential
• Experience of manual lifting in previous roles
• Well organised and able to manage fluctuating workloads
• Be physically fit to deal with heavy lifting for full shifts
• Be reliable and honest.

• Current Full UK Driving Licence
• Experience of working with the baggage operation previously
• Candidate must be medically fit – Required to pass an airside driver medical assessment

This roles would be suitable for some one seeking a role working in the baggage hall. The role will be initially focused on EBS but may assist the wider EASL operation if required.
