About the role

The Capital Projects Environment, Health, Safety and Quality (EHSQ) Lead will primarily be responsible for the development and implementation of plans to support our Capital Projects team and programme. The role will be supporting the full cycle of EHSQ in projects including performance of suppliers, from the initial development, to construction, and the final handover stages of the project.

About the recruitment process

The recruitment process for this role will consist of an interview with the Head of Projects, Head of ESHQ, and Head of Technical Delivery, in person.

 
What you'll be doing 
  • Scoping and development of project EHSQ systems and processes.
  • Pre-qualification and assessment of suppliers prior to appointment.
  • Pre-Project Impact Risk Analysis on existing operations.
  • Support the development of Construction Phase Plans
  • Ensure that identified risks have been adequately addressed by the suppliers and Edinburgh Airport Limited Project Managers.
  • Develop and implement the plan to effectively monitoring compliance through each stage of the project, including commissioning and final handover.
  • Support the main EHSQ function on high level projects.

What we're looking for.
  • This role requires the successful candidate to obtain a Counter Terrorist Check, so you must have been living in the UK for the last 3 consecutive years
  • A self starter with strong inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Proven construction related qualifications (NEBOSH Construction Certificate) and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. civil engineering, building)
  • Good level of understanding of each phase of a construction project, including various engineering installations.
  • Portfolio management experience with a wide range of diverse projects impacting on a variety of stakeholders at different levels.
  • Previous experience of effective contractor/supplier management resulting in increased performance and reduced expenditure.
  • Hold, or working towards being a member of The Association of Projects Safety (iMaps or CMaps membership level)
  • Understanding of ISO Standards (ISO9001 Quality, ISO14001 Environment, ISO45001 OH&S)
