About the Role
 
As Content and Communications Manager, you will play a key role in managing and delivering all aspects the airport’s external communications, reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs.

You will lead on the delivery of all social media and take ownership of the content on the airport's websites; you will develop new and innovative ways to tell the many interesting stories from across the airport campus; and work as part of a team to enhance and protect the airport’s reputation through engagement with media.

You’ll also give expert communications advice to teams from across the wider business and produce communications setting out how the business will approach certain opportunities and challenges.
 
About the Recruitment Process

The recruitment process for this role will comprise of two stages. If successful, the first stage interview will be in person, where you will meet our Head of Corporate Affairs, a member of our Communications team and a member of our Digital team. We will set a task to be completed and this will be reviewed during the interview, and followed with competency based questions. The second stage interview for successful candidates will be in person with our Head of Corporate Affairs and our Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer. We anticipate first stage interviews to commence mid-late February.

What you'll be doing
  • Managing all airport social media channels through content creation and planning.
  • Taking ownership of the airport websites and working with colleagues to ensure they provide the best user experience, support all areas of the business, and are constantly being developed and improved.
  • You’ll be the biggest advocate for the airport’s tone of voice, ensuring this is followed on all external-facing communications channels.
  • Working with Customer Support colleagues to ensure passenger responses on social media are dealt with in an effective and timely manner.
  • Identifying new content ideas and innovative ways of telling stories from across the airport.
  • Working with media both proactively and reactively to ensure the airport’s voice is heard, and key messages are communicated.
  • Providing communications advice to colleagues across the business.
  • Helping organise and deliver visits from stakeholders including politicians and government officials.
 
 

What we're looking for

To apply for this role, you'll need

  • This role requires the successful candidate to obtain a Counter Terrorist Check, so you must have been living in the UK for the last 3 consecutive years
  • Demonstrated experience in a content and/or communications-related role.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to translate often complex messages for a range of audiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of current social media landscape, and experience of using platforms to inform and engage audiences.
  • An ability to produce informative and engaging website content, and an understanding of what good user experience looks like.
  • A strong sense of team, and an ability to work with colleagues across a range of different departments.
The following items are nice to have but are not essential for the role:
  • Strong understanding of the media landscape across Scotland and the UK.
  • Ability to influence and provide sound communications advice to colleagues, including at senior management and executive level.
